Had a blast in Mong Kok! We came into the city with Kayiu’s sister, she was going to work, but she dropped us off at the Sino Center. Here there were tons of one room shops that showcased these individual cubes of merch. What went on was—someone wanted to sell something, they would rent out a cube from the shop keeper and put their wares up on for sale on consignment. Anything from statuettes, handmade crafts, iPhone cases, to Legos. We had a blast just walking around looking.
Leaving the Sino Center, it began to dump on us. It was very wet and the wind broke my umbrella literally in half. So we found a mall to poke our heads in and wait out the rain. Here in Hong Kong, there are about a million malls, so it wasn’t tough finding one. We found Langham Place.
This place was huge! Something like 14 floors and we were hungry so we thought we would see what we could dig up to tide us over until dinner. The fast food here in Hong Kong is pretty great. I got a Curry Pork Chop for less than 5 dollars, and it was amazing. It would hold up to most sit down restaurants any day. Kayiu had beef satay. I ate her egg cause she doesn’t like runny yolks. YUM.
We took the express escalator up to the top and meandered down stopping at a candy store to get some gummies! This “express” escalator only stopped in the middle and there was another that took you up to the top. It makes sense, start at the top and trickle down.
Finally we were going to stop at an out door market, but the rain kept that on the back burner. So we ducked our heads into an arcade. It wasn’t what I was expecting. I was surprised. I played a few fun games and took a picture. Pictures were not allowed so this one is of me on the look out. We are so sneaky.
